Nutrition, Exercise, and Mindfulness

1890449734You’re here because you’re ready to feel better.

Our current culture defines health uni-dimensionally, and it’s starting to feel demoralizing.

You understand that diet and exercise are “good for you,” but something about the messaging about what it means in this culture to be healthy feels unreachable, unattainable, and unrealistic.

It’s starting to make you feel like “being healthy” is unattainable. It’s not – developing a practice of exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness that suits you and your body and needs is possible!

You are unique and beautiful, and your optimal wellness needs to be, also!

1150828202You are a whole being – a beautiful system of intricate parts.

I know this to be true because I’ve worked through this myself. My identity as a woman in this culture has brought with it a long ongoing journey of learning to appreciate and celebrate all the parts of me that are unique.

Instead of comparing myself to media messages about what an “ideal” woman does to stay healthy, I’ve had to look within myself and learn to listen to what “I” need to do to stay healthy. Doing this has enabled me to create wellness goals that align with my essence – which means these goals become reachable and sustainable in the long term.

This is possible for you, too! By dismantling the stories we tell ourselves about how to be “healthy,” we start to assemble stories that fit us and our beautiful selves and can begin moving toward whole-body wellness in sustainable ways.

That’s why my therapy includes exploring nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness as tools for promoting your overall wellness.

Nutrition

Explore how nutrition impacts your mental health and how your nutrition impacts your relationship with your body.

We collaborate with nutritionists to explore how food impacts the mind-body connection and how our eating habits and vice versa impact our self-image. This will unlock insight that will lead to a new relationship with food and nutrition.

Exercise

Explore what exercises are a good fit for you and your body, and identify how the current culture imposes expectations onto you. We will explore how these expectations have impacted your ability to feel good in your body while finding an exercise routine that works for you.

We will explore how your internal dialogue impacts your feelings about yourself and your relationship with your body. This will unlock insight that will lead to you redefining your relationship with yourself and how you feel in your body. It will also lead to feeling better, stronger, and more capable in your body as a woman in this world.

Mindfulness

Explore how to use mindfulness to get in touch with your intuition and develop a deeper relationship with yourself so that you can be empowered to make decisions that are truly best for what you need in each moment. This enables you to navigate challenging experiences, make decisions, and evaluate how you feel and what you need, all while feeling good about your unique needs and individual skills and talents.
